Studying TESL in Malaysia

There are several public and private institutions of higher learning in Malaysia that offer TESL as a learning programme apart from taking the course of study via teacher training institutes nationwide.

The standard minimum requirements for pursuing a TESL degree is a good credit in SPM English (perferably B3 and above), and a Band 4 and above for MUET, apart from the compulsory credits for Bahasa Melayu (SPM) and Pengajian Am (STPM). You need to demonstrate good proficiency in the English language with passion for teaching.

We have listed them in the following list. We’ll be posting more details on the programme offered in each of the institutions from time to time and if you have information you would like to share, feel free to email us.

I have a son how is interested in teaching English but after his flying colour SPM result, I made his take “ASASI SAINS” instead. And to my surprise, he flunk, totally flunk. I know I was wrong now. How can I help him to get into TESL?

    • Hi there ! I would love to inform you a bit of , what so far i know about tesl because i just finished studying it few months ago. Sis , you enrolled him in ASASI SAINS is no big deal actually. You just need to convince him and help him to score his foundation year to gain good CGPA and GOOD MUET so then during the intake of Ijazah Sarjana Muda, you can choose TESL ( w interview) in UPU or go IPTS. Choose one of them . Both options are based on sis’s family financial. You can contact me by my email kogarasumaru60@yahoo.com if you want to ask more things about. Tq im just helping. :)
